I ordered this book for my 11 year old daughter, who loves a challenge. She’s in a math club at school and was excited to share this book with her group. Having the answers in the back of the book was a great way for her to quickly check her answers.
Neither myself or the very smart 11 year old I bought these books for, could understand the questions, much less answer them! These books were-self-published by some random guy, and they are only a list of questions, with no context or help given. They are cheap, but a complete waste of money.
As I was flipping through this book, I saw a sub-book of about 25 pages in the middle about "Lady Viagra". Definitely not appropriate for the age group this was intended for. Maybe just a mis-print but a very big oops.
One grandson loves to do math in his head. I think these riddles will be challenging. I haven't given the book to him yet. It's a bit ahead of him. He's only going into first grade, and though he is already multiplying and dividing, the word problems in riddle form in this are pretty advanced, more for 3rd to 5th grade level math. Maybe we'll try some together and see what happens.
My fourth graders love when I do these in class. Great fun and critical thinking provoking skills!
These riddles are great for my grandkids and this grandma has learned a thing or two along the way. Just challenging enough to retain the fun value without frustrating the kids.
