This is an excellent guide to basic Java Programming for beginners. I was pretty impressed with the attention to detail, and the amount valuable reference material. The information is well-written and the author has explained things in a way that beginners like me can understand and apply practically. I will be referencing this a lot in the future! I appreciate that there is a comprehensive history of computer programming and that there are comparisons between Java and C++ programming language for Windows. Overall, really glad I picked this one up. It has nearly all of the information that I will need to successfully begin programming my own computer code using Java.
I really liked the easy going style. The simple to follow codes are awesome. And the book has and overall good structure. The quotes for and about programmers a real gem as an add on. This is a simple beginners handbook. Unless you would like to deeper into java this book will do. For those eager to know more I’d suggest to search for a beginners guide from oracle. Also there are some more heavy stuffs to look for like design patterns or clean code...
This easy reading text provides an introduction to Java approximately equal to the first half of an undergraduate programming in Java class but requiring significantly less financial and time loss.
Well laid out in easy to follow format, the beginning pages give a good overview for the novice and builds progressively to professional level. As the intro states, you will be able to start from scratch without any previous exposure to any programming language.
Not a bad book, short but quite informative. The e-book has problem with formatting - some pages are repeated few times. The style is a bit uneven - maybe because many parts of the book seems to be "borrowed" from other publications or websites. I tried with 5 fragments and have found 2 of them on other websites, and 2 of them was from other book (I guess it was Thinking in Java). Funny thing is, one part was taken out of original context and because of that it was not entirely true for java.
I got this book on another site, but the grammar needed help. I had to keep a pencil nearby to fix the grammar and formatting. Just so it would stop distracting me. It was short pieces of information, and good for beginners, even though I was not I figured I could lend it down to my tweens to learn some programming basics when I am done with it. But I try to use printed work as good examples of writing and this is not a good example of writing.
Good basics of Java. Enjoyed quotes at back of book. Easy to read and nice program examples of what is discussed
I highly recommend this book for Java Programming beginners. Mr kotiyana does a great job of explaining the java concepts and algorithms in detail. It is reader-friendly, whether you are a beginner or an expert in Java programming. It thoroughly covers the materials needed to become proficient in coding!
